Next month’s boutique Farmer & The Owl fest is broadening its horizons as the event draws closer, adding more acts to its already impressive line-up and introducing a range of sensory goodies to keep punters engaged all day, including food, cinema and arts offerings.

Adding their name to a bill already filled out with esteemed peers such as DZ Deathrays, Jebediah, Bad//Dreems and The Mess Hall will be Queensland heroes VelociraptorRolls Bayce and Jeremy Neale, ably complemented by a DJ spread encompassing the likes of Parkside & FriendsSPACE 44 DJsBlackbear, HoneybearBerko (FBi), Vintage Stylus DJs and the Music Farmers DJs.

Outside the aural attractions, this year’s Farmer & The Owl — proudly presented by The Music — will also include a Silent Cinema on the Duck Pond Lawn, with a selection of classic films from the 1920s curated by film critic-cum-Australian-icon David Stratton; the SPACE 44 gallery, a collection of “big, interactive” large-scale works designed specifically with a festival crowd in mind; live art by Raymond Lalotoa, the founder of Sydney underground music movement My Sydney Riot and the frontman of local outfit Fait Accompli; the visual spectacular of Zender Bender‘s on-stage projections and graphics; the surreal moving collages of US-born, Sydney-based artist  L.A. Early; and expert street artists Short_Black86, Ransm, Jimmy, Bafcat, Gumball & Swamp Monster and Hugo Ramirez. There will also be installations from Sam BennetStef Harris and Matthew French, with an Oil-on-PVC artwork by Alana Cappetta and a large-scale paste-up of Drahos Zac‘s work.

All that stimulation is sure to leave punters hungry, which makes Farmer & The Owl’s newly announced array of food even more enticing than it already was, with a range of outlets including Lee & MeHeritage KitchenThe Prickly PearThe Nighthawk DinerBerlin BangersFired Up Mobile PizzeriaO!momoHummus Bar and Bush Tucka set to cover all your culinary needs, regardless of whether you’re craving tacos, Middle Eastern, southern-style BBQ, German sausage or good old-fashioned Aussie grub. And, if you’ve got the time after everything else, you can spend a bit of time moseying through the markets, which will feature more than 20 stalls peddling unique, local, handmade goods for you to drop some dosh on.

Farmer & The Owl hits the University of Wollongong on Saturday, 14 March, and will run across four stages from 1pm to midnight. Second-release tickets ($69) are available now but running out; a final limited release of tickets priced at $79 will follow shortly.
